It is very unusual for me to do a review that is more than a 15 minute drive from Severna Park but I am compelled to give accolades to Attman’s Deli which has had a location in Baltimore since 1915 and a new location in Potomac which is where I happened to be at lunch time. I drove by and saw a sign that caught my eye that read “Corned beef that will melt in your mouth.” That was enough to get me in the door. The place was long and narrow and completely packed since it was around 1pm on a Saturday. They had old photos on the wall which I absolutely love no matter where it is and the overall feel was old timey and relaxed. I told the waitress that I had never been there before and if there was one meal that you would have someone try what would it be. She said the Brisket and Latke sandwich was excellent and had different types of beef served over hash browns with gravy and horseradish sauce. When it arrived in about 10 minutes it was piled high enough where I never thought I would get close to finishing it. I was wrong. Bite after bite it disappeared until you could pat the plate off and use it again. This meat had the flavor of the fatty part of meat without the fat. The service was good but not fantastic but the food is well worth the trip to Baltimore if that location is anywhere near as good. If you are already in Baltimore or Potomac for any reason, a trip to Attman’s is a no brainer.
