In the mood for wings so we stopped by “Ellie’s Place”, formally “The Pub” on Veterans Highway. Skipping breakfast we arrived early at about 11:20 and found out they do not open until 11:30 so we waited until someone opened the doors a little past 11:30. We were told to grab any seat we want. I am not sure if this is the norm but since we were the first ones in we got a table by a window and a tv. The tables are really cool and look like they are genuine barells turned into tables. They also have a party room on the side, video games, jukebox etc..Needless to say the renovations must have cost a small fortune.

The entire restaurant/bar is smothered in local school, regional and of course Baltimore Sports memorabilia. I really like the fact that alot of the local bars are putting up high school things. I would even think that they should get a large picture of the local football teams to put on the walls.

Our drink orders were taken and our waitress returned ready to take our order immediately.I wanted wings but wanted to try something different so we went for the boneless wings and tried three different types: BBQ, Bay Wings and Extra Hot. All were very good but the extra hot seemed a little milder than I expected so next time maybe the homocide wings are what I should get. The standouts were the Bay Wings. I stopped ordering them most places because they were usually dry and overly salty. Not these, they were moist and some of the best if not the best old bay flavored wings I have ever had.

If I had one complaint the wings seemed to take almost a half hour to make but that may be because we got there right when they opened and had to get kitchen ready or it may just be how long they take.
