I never had any reason to go to Crownsville until recently which is why I had only been to Lures once before. I passed by it around lunch time and made a U turn to grab a sammie. It seemed very busy for lunch as the parking lot was pretty full. In the few times I have driven by there at dinner time the lot has always been full.Thankfully there was a table or two open so there was no wait. There is also a new bar area in the front with a few tables.
The waitress was very nice, the only small issue was that she forgot the silverware but no biggie and she was extremely busy.
As usual when I go to a place that sells crab cakes and has a waterman’s motif I have to give it a try. They also give you a choice of homemade potato chips or fries.
The crabcake was excellent but different than what I am used to. It is more of a crab meat sandwich. From what I could tell there were absolutely no fillers, just chunks of crab meat. The prices were in line with pretty much anywhere else crabcakes.
They also seemed to have a huge selection of beer on draft.
I really like the fishing rods and fish on the walls.A shark in a giant fish tank would be awesome. It makes for a really laid back atmosphere. They also have an outside deck area available when the weather is nice.
The inside is a very open space so the noise bounces off of every wall so if you are in for a business meeting or trying to have a quiet lunch you may want to sit in the bar area or outside.
Now that I am in the area a few days a week it will definitely be a spot I will be having lunch at more frequently.
I apologize for not having a picture of the crabcake. I was very hungry and inhaled it before I realized.
